honestly, nice catch Rich...

for a cat to be 20 pounds at 30" it would have to have a girth of around 23"

If you're going to use a spring scale, you need to calibrate it with something; ie a 5 lb cast iron weight or something that you KNOW weighs an exact or close to exact amount.

Here is a pic of a 32" cat I caught last year and it was I believe 9.6 lbs. Nice fish and great fight I'll bet either way.

Ken was that caught in the BOQ? some monsters in there... I caught my personal best a super fat 34 x 17 in the bay...

Yep, right around the green can by Ram Island last summer. Don't think you can see it in the pic but it looked like this one came a little too close to a boat prop with it's tail. :shock: Must have thought he was a musky and tried to attack a prop :wink:
