This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Pike Lake is a tough fish for walleye due to the slot size. I find most of the eyes seem to fall in the slot so only a couple per outing come home. There is a huge reef right in front of the trailer park that holds fish. Just off the ends of this reef are a couple of humps that hold eyes on the drop to deep water. I usually start working the breaks in this area and then find what depth is working. If I pick up a few at 28ft then I use that depth across the lake on all of the points and structure.

Mid summer is good for SM Bass and the walleye fishing is great if trolling deep for the suspended eyes right down the middle of the lake in the deepest parts. I usually find hungry eyes just above the termocline in August. Also areas where the thermocline meets bottom are good for SM Bass and Walleye.

I only fished Pike Lake once, 2 yrs ago. ganman and Jigs describe it quite accurately, from my recollection, especially the fast rising structure off very deep water. It can surprise you...so be careful. There were spots where the bottom was like a roller coaster.

I thought it was an interesting and pretty lake worth checking out again. Even though there were only mediocre pike for me on my single outing. Of more interest to me is Devil Lake; I can't wait to get back there, if only for the fantastic surroundings.

Good Luck!

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
