Mississippi River update ?
Mississippi River update ?
Good day all.
I am a newby to posting on this board although I have been reading the posts for a while now.
I used to fish up that way a lot after my brother in law built his house at the end of Mississippi Drive.
I must say that after fishing all over the province Arnprior and surroundings is still is the best place there is.
The last time I was up there I found that the Miss seemed to have filled in some. Not as deep as it used to be.
Is this still the case ?
I am heading up from Burlington in 2 weeks and am curious as to how things are.
Thanks, any info would be appreiciated.

The last time I was up there I was trolling from the mouth up.
I the wide strech just inside the mouth I found the average depth to be aound 8 ft years before it was around 12.
Also as you go up to the first island on the right it was a deeper channel through there.
Go to google maps and go on "satilite version" and you can actually see the shallows.
Have a good day.

It's still about 6-8' inside the mouth. We've had some decent success there recently right in the Miss...hopefully it will continue to produce. It did last year practically until the bass opener (25 Jun).
There are few problems in life which can not be solved with a well-placed, high-explosive projectile.
