A little Luck Came with the New Boat

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

A little Luck Came with the New Boat

Post by iankrzyzanowski »

Well tony and I fished the Lowe Memorial Tourney today on Muskrat lake. It was for a great cause, it was ona great lake, and it was for pike so we thought wed give it a go.

We were pretty hopefull since we knew the lake pretty well and we were not dissapointed!

I start off the day with loosing what would have been the first keeper, but thats the way she goes. The fishing was slow for our boat, but we knew what our game plan was and we stuck to our spot and we managed a fair livewell of pike!

Almost weigh in time and we still have a 1.9lb pike in the well and are starting to get worried. So we fish right at the launch and bam, tony gets a fish on which was probably the biggest fo the day! Phewww, the snot rocket is gone. Of to the weigh in!

Tony get the trailer and tells me from what he sees on the weigh in board, according to my scale should put us into 3rd place. I drop the fish on the scale and what comes up...... 16.01.. Wow was my scale of. That put us into second place and also into second place for big fish..... The end result....

We finished 2nd out of 23 teams and lost 1st place by a pound. We also got knocked down to 3rd biggest fish of the day!

All in all, a great day of fishing for a great cause, and the new boat did well in her first tourney! :):)

Right on Ransome. You and Tony have been at that lake a few times before and it seems to have paid off. Good finish guys.

Thanks guys! Next we're planning on doing some damage to the bass scene! :D The funny thing is our most productive time interval was the last 15 minutes before weigh-in. We caught 3 fish right outside the launch and 2 of them ended up in the final limit. By the way, biggest fish was 5.2, second was 4.87 and we were in at 4.29  . One over six was brought in by the first place team but it died. It was a great cause to help out the families of the Lowe brothers who past away on White lake last year. A little over $2000 was raised and put in a trust fund for the children! :D :D
