Hi Icecool:
One of the colour coded bathymetric maps (by Trak) I looked at last week at World of Maps was a map of Poisson Blanc. The map also showed Lac des Sables. These maps depicted recommended areas to catch various species of fish. The map showed a predominance of walleye in Lac des Sables. Do you have any information that confirms the predominance of walleye there?

O ya there are walleye there alot. Right now it’s not biting but if you do go use black tail jigs and bottom bouncers with red and white lures.Tomcat wrote:Hi Icecool:

Thanks for the tip Icecool. I was looking at the map of Poisson Blanc because a fishing colleague has invited me to spend a day or two fishing for lakers in Poisson Blanc. I just happen to notice that Lac des Sables was on the map too and the map showed that walleye were the predominant species there. Perhaps we'll go up there too.

I visited World of Maps last week and saw the bathymetric maps I've been talking about there. They have some in stock. The maps are produced by Trak. Trak's web reference for some Outaouais lakes is http://www.trakmaps.com/securestore/c166821.2.html

You have to like fishing
Thank you very much for your kind offer Icecool. I'm not sure when we might go - probably sometime in the next few weeks. When I find out, I'll send you a PM to get your contact information. My fishing colleague and I and 4 others are headed into Papineau Labelle on Monday for 4 days of trout fishing (specs and lakers). We're staying in a beautiful cabin on an island. Even if fishing were terrible, its still a great way to spend 4 days with fishing friends. Thanks again Icecool.
