Openning day SUCKS!!!!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Man, JP- that's a tough start to the season. :?

I presume you'll be taking the motor back to the place that installed it and get your money back?

BIG $$ if you have to go new, and probably a long wait. If you need help finding a used/reconditioned L/U, let me know.

Man, dude. :( That really does suck. Your season can only get better from now on. I hope you can get a refund(or a free replacement, installed correctly!!) on that part.

Thanks everyone. It was the worst day of my life    :x  :?: :? :(   all my emotions today.
The good news is that my power head is excellent and I can weld, so I am going to try to fix my old lower unit my self. The gears, prop shaft and drive shaft in it are all ok and no wables.
I will be heading back to the place I got it from monday and have them remove the new lower unit. I hope it didn't break anything else like the pinion gear when I started her.
Do you want to hear the funny thing about the day. I have a motor guide 36v 67lbs trolling motor. I hate it. Give me a Minn Kota any day over it. Anyways I lost the nut that keeps the prop from coming off while fishing and the prop didn't fall off, that would have been a perfect day  . Thought it was kind of funny anyways.
Cheers to all

Major bummer JP. I found a stump in the Ottawa river tonight but I was going as slow as possible so I only high centered the boat. I had to get out and push her off!!! I hate the Ottawa river!

I am really sorry to hear about that.

A first day with a new toy is supposed to be about fun not frustration.

Gotta get better from here on in.
