Openning day SUCKS!!!!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Man I would have come unglued. I feel horrble for you......your rig is a new if I remember.

Now I don't know if this is an option......but down here in the islands lots of lower units get mashed on rocks. Many just put them through insurance.

This is yet another example of how bad things happen to good people.

Sorry!

Good luck getting up & running again.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

Thanks everyone. It does suck, but I am glad that Brad and myself were not hurt badly. It could have been much more serious. I have a possible broken thumb from the impact and my shoulder is sore from where I impacted the dash. Brad is ok as well. Just goes to show you what can happen even if you know the water very well and have been on it many times before.
Off to have the lower unit looked at again tomorrow after work, Please pray for her :? :P  .
Cheers

Ouch JP...really hope you somehow re-coup the cash for the motor....and sincerely hope no serious damage to the shoulder and thumb. Could be a frustrating season fishing for you if it is infact broken. Here's hoping for the best bud. :!:

Sorry to hear of the problems JP you'll have to have a long talk with the fishing god, about this one. " Why???? on opening day" Hope the rest of your season is better.

Sorry to hear about that JP... perhaps a good thing you were'nt going flat out as it could have been much more serious. It also shows you don't have to be going that fast to do serious damage.

Hope you get things sorted out soon so you can get back out there.

Hi Flipper. It happened on the Ottawa at Rockland going into OPP bay. The water level is so high that I lost my bearings and went to far to the right and into a stump field. Funny thing is I have run this bay lots, but with the high water there are no land marks that I recognized (being the huge stump I hit).
Anyway, I will keep you all updated.
cheers
