Powerpro on sale

Was into Cdn Tire and they have moss green powerpro on sale for 14.99

. They have 10lb thru 50lb and is on sale until 22nd I think. I've heard stock is going quick at some stores. I know the 10th line store still had a good selection as of last night.

Went to PP this year and am having trouble. I put the line on as tight as I could but I am getting severe bite-ins when getting snagged. Considering going back to spider

Never had that problem ady..not sure what the problem is but I would never take Spider crap over PP..

Ady, is that on spinning gear or a baitcaster?
I have seen similar problems on my wife's spinning reel.

Might also wanna check if you some nics in the guides or on the spool.

On my spinning reels I have problems when Im throwing lighter baits such as senkos or floating worms. With Power pro Im getting a ton of wind knots and with Spiderwire stealth I am still having too many knots.
Does anyone have any comments or suggestions about Fireline on their spinning gear?

This is my first year with PP and i love it,, i just dont like hot it turns white!, but its strong!

I actually use Stren Superbraid and love it. Concerning the question about spinning gear. If you want a superline I don't think anything works as well as Fireline on spinning. I had the same fireline spooled for 3 years and loved it. I think I ended up changing it for something different for the pure sake of change. Of course now I want to go back.

The colour doesn't effect it's strength... if you don't like the colour loss use a marker on the first 3-4ft of line and that'll help with your confidence.

You can also unload the spool and put it back on in the other direction so the line that never saw the light of day is now at the business end.

Hey Bacon I use 20lb on my spinning. I think Ill buy some fireline tonight and give it a try tomorrow. Dont tell my boss.

Chunko I use 30 on my spinning gear and 50 on my baitcasters...upto 100 on a musky reel
It's the only line I use and if I ever had a problem it was operator error!
The line in my mind is the best out there.

if anyone is having problems or difficulties with Power Pro, i suggest you give this stuff a whirl.

i purchase it in bulk, 3000 yard spool. 8lbs diam, 30 lbs test.

costs about 3 cents a yard, when buying in bulk.

check it out, trust me.

i started using it two years ago, and use it on just about every rod i own, rigging for salmon, spinning for walleye, or flippin for bass, spinning rod or baitcasting rod....all PRT braid, 30 lbs test.

I have to tell you that I like the FINS type line too. Tried it for first time this year - 10 lb on a spinning reel. I have saved a fortune in jigs when snagged on the bottom - I simply hold my spool and pull slowly until the hook bends and pulls free from whatever. Now Bobber is loaded with 10lb too on his spinning gear. I also like 10 lb Fireline for spinning reels too, but the line looks kind of frayed after a while even if it does seem to maintain strength.

PowerPro - hate how it turns white. Looks like a lazer beam pointing at my lure. Good strength though!

Having trouble finding 30 lb FINS for Baitcasters.

when you say 'for baitcasters' you dont mean a specific line FOR baitcasters do you?

i'm assuming you mean just simple old 30lbs 8 diameter, that you want to use on your BC.

if so, and you cant find it, i'll go to Fishing World and pick up a few spools for ya, and send em out via mail (i think they do mail orders as well...)

PRT braid isn't easy to find, as spectra makes it, as well as every superline on the market, and spectra doesn't market their PRT braid like they do the Power Pro or Fireline.

(spectra sells their base strand to PP or Berkley, and they market the finished product)

I have to agree with Steve I switched to Fins recently from power pro and Fins is definitely excellent to use and is on all my reels now.
