Nymphing for carp

Post by Gravelguy4 »

It's late and I'm still at work so i was letting my mind wander and got to thinking about how on slow fishing days in rivers I used to put on a bead headed nymph and cast to the schools of carp. used to have some success when i got a good smooth drift. even watched a couple 5 or 6 pounders come over and scoop it up off the bottom as it went past them. it was always good for a scrap on my fly rod.
the favorite was a bead headed prince nymph.

Anyone else try similar things when times are tough?
