Boat Seat Stuck

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Chunko wrote:I know, I know. Dry Graphite spray. (you can get it at auto parts stores, but not sure about Crappy Tire) Its lasts a long time, it dries quickly so nothing will stick to it. Might be worth a try. I use it on my truck window that seems to come up very slowly and works great for about a couple of months. Lasts way longer than WD 40 or silicone spray. Although the stuff I have is black so carefull with the overspray.
That stuff is used to lubricate locks and prevent them from freezing. It's like a powder. Hardware store or locksmith will have it.

Try using silicon spray. It does not collect dirt and is water-proof.

Try putting crushed ice down the seat shaft, assuming your seat detaches. Do this until the bag's gone....voila :!:

Had this same issue a couple years ago, this heat isn't helping you :!:

If you go to any motorcycle store get some of the chain wax that they have for the chains on a motocross it dries instantly and stops sand or mud from sticking to chain. It should work well and doesn't evaporate like wd-40 does.
When hell freezes over, I'll be there icefishing!!!

Tried the Vaseline but sand and the like are attracted to it like a magnet.

Vaseline usually helps getting things in and out.
So that's what that tube of KY jelly was for!!!
And I was starting to get nervous...

I have Princecraft 169, always have a problem moving the seats. I have taken to carrying a rubber mallet (yes the same kind that you seal paint can lids with) and use it to hit the side of the seat post so that it will give. Works like a charm every time.
