This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I have to say I haven't enjoyed readiing a thread as much as I have this one. It is good to hear people with different opinions. Not everyone believes in the same things and freedoms such as speech and opinions are what help to make us who we are.Not sure if I said that quite right.

I grew up hunting and fishing as well and subsequently am a butcher by trade.(Theme from jaws in back ground)
I do have a great respect for life and do what I can to make every death as painless and humane as possible.
Having read many posts here I believe that most if not all halktalkers feel the same.
Y I know, blaw blah blaw, I'll get off my soapbox now.

YES there are several facets to my point Wolfe as there are to yours and I do respect yours too . I won't criticize yours as I enjoy your pics and know you do right by your boys but as I said or tried too,,, but I feel right too.

I feel personally though,, that I can answer your concerns but can you answer mine,,,,,not that you have too but why not . Yes this can become or is a good thread where we can enlighten everyone on our thoughts and hopefully keep it in perspective without trash talk . Tell me about your world and how you see it and I will tell you about mine even if we differ .

trapperdirk,

sure we can exchange views some more, but I thought that's what we did, and to do so further won't cause either of us to change our outlooks (this based on past experience).

I'll just reiterate by saying I, too, respect your views, your lifestyle, etc., but I just choose to be fairly discretionary in what I feel is acceptable to expose my little kids to. No secret on this board that I am a big, sappy lover of wildlife -- and though I am not against hunting by any means, I don't choose to surround myself with images of it, and that will include my children, as well. When they are older, they can make up their own minds about what they are comfortable with. I know my kids well and I know what makes them happy, what scares them, what they're curious about, etc. They are both very interested in nature and the natural world, and so I cultivate that, but with a live and let live perspective. Again, this is my personal philosophy & I am not blasting yours. But this is my family...see?

Hope you understand where I'm coming from, even if you don't agree with it. So we can agree to disagree(?), as many such similar posts have come to the same resting place.

Thanks for your interest, though. :P I'll bet you have some amazing experiences with wildlife that would keep us intrigued for hours.
