I stayed around Aylmer Island all day, Things were strangely quiet early in the day. Around 8:00 things picked up nicely, though. When the sun got high, I tried a little jigging in the deeper water. I hit one large Smallie that way. I lost him after a jump or two. I only fish barbless jigs. So, you will lose some occasionaly. It was high noon when I noticed action up on the reefs. So, I tried the topwater around the edges. Nailed a beauty there and several other smaller ones in the next hour.
The pics tell the story. This isn't the best camera. All, except the sauger, came on the same topwater lure. Some average and some better than average Smallies.
It seemed the clouds had settled on the water.
