Markus The rear of that one could handle one honking big cooler! It is a great project boat and now that Greymist has nixed me selling the blue mist, it's the kinda project I'd like to take on. I need something that trailors and can handle the big water

Was it drug up on shore part way? Did it fill up with rain and sink the rear end? Was the motor weight too much for it? Have you floated this baby yet?
Man you're gonna have some fun with this.
Don't know.

No, not yet. Once I get the trailer straightened out, will float it off of BTS's trailer and onto mine.
Man, I'm already having fun with this. This is the kind of project that keeps me up at night thinking of ideas. My god, I had no idea of all the different kinds of boat crap (accessories) you can pick up.

FFF, PM BTS to find out how he came to get his hands on the one. I'm not sure exactly where and how he got it, but I got the impression these kinds of boats pop up every once in a while.
BTW, how do you bend Lexan. I want to make a windshield.

Hoss, the wagon has been hauled away to the great scrap yard in the sky (actually in the sticks). Got me a new (to me) 1994 Chevy Astro, does a pretty good job hauling the boats.
Looks like a worthwhile project to me if the boat does in fact float. Try to keep as much of that floor space as possible. Go with good removable pedestal seats. They'll likely cost ya a bit but you'll love the convenience later. Nothing like absolute comfort when your out on an all day troll.
Good Luck Bill.... Hope to see ya in Port Hope next July.

Experiment with some scraps first Take a piece of flat bar, 3/16- 1/4 thick, should be longer than the length of the bend you want, heat it with a torch. Position the lexan above it, bend line in line, and bend. Now the height above the bar is what you need to determine by experiment, and the length of the bend may require another flat bar clamped to the lexan to make it bend evenly, and play with the heat. Plastics melt at 300F and will burn if you get above 350F, you just want to soften it enough to bend cleanly with as little blemish or ripple as possible. The next time I get together with Markus I'm going to do some measuring for a rod rack that will hold the rods vertically on the front of his center console, when we firm up the design I'll fax you a drwg. I also am going to build one for Hoss but it will be gunwhale mounted again when I get some measurements etc. I can fax you a drwg. In the mean time if you come up with some brackets, plates what ever fax me a drwg and I'll give you an idea of material cost, if I don't have scrap I can use to make it. The way things are heading in the manufacturing sector, with the cost of energy killing business, I'm thinking I'm gonna have alot of free time by christmas!

I did this with my windshield, plexiglass will bend to form with a heat gun, just keep constant light pressure till she gets warm enough. You can find windshields on E-bay also. You can judge mine at Quinte.
looks like a fun project and with the knowledge of the folks on here i dont think help is too far away. just dont drop any WSB's on the floor as they'll be lost forever or until the miss's steps on one.
