Catching up with last summer

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Catching up with last summer

Post by Lucky4 »

Last Saturday, back from last week non fishing vacations, I found a Shimano hat in the mail box and had to go try it on...

Little Cleo and I jumped into the boat and headed out to one of our large mouth hole. The weather was sunny and warm and the bass, as well as a few small pikes, did cooperate with me. No giant fish but good numbers with half a dozen in the 3lbs range.

Was it due to the new hat... I overfished Little Cleo. That was the first time in a long while...

Next day, we decided to venture further away on the Ottawa river, to troll for some larger fish.

However, at first, things did not turn out as planned. I did share my hat with Little Cleo, still waiting on hers, for a little toothy critter portrait.

Then, it was my reel's turn to bounce, while the rod was screaming in its holder... After a short and intense fight, a nice golden log of musky filled the net.

After a quick pic, the nice musky was released to fight another day.

All in all, a good hat breaking week-end

Everything is in the hat...

That was a good summer day, just a few hours away it seems...!!

And I did broke my favorite lure on a bite, probably from a medium pike or musky in shallow water. I only retrive the clear mouth piece! Happy to report, though, that the company making this lure is sending a new one by mail!

I was supposed to get one of those too but admin thought I'd cheat so after 2 months of waiting I wasn't given one anyways??? Go figure. But I know, you and Lucky are as honest as they come so like everyone else who got hats with that special stroke of luck that comes with it, great pics, and great fishing. You two are an awesome team. :D

Here's one of my pics I submitted to the final round. A beautiful Shimano Salmon. First one ever caught. New species created just for Shimano hatless fishermen

Note my buddy Snoop Dogg was with me, so that should count as a witness.

No, I'm not bitter much.

Should it go on???

Should I cry foul???

That is a beauty Shimano Salmon though, dontcha think???

It better get the votes, might be all I submit. Water levels up about 6 to 14 feet on the Moose, fish are scattered with two days left to fish. :? :(
