:D :D :D :D

Despite the less than perfect weather, .....it's gettin' down to "crunch" time.....

Didn't even think about gettin the boat wet, .....actually, ...it was pretty wet as it was, ....

I got so into it, ....I forgot to take any pics at the start.... :(

So, .....here's the first piece of floor installed...

Image

Image

The two removable sections at the very back, are also, ....."cut", "glued", "screwed", ....and in place....

Moved the gas tank and battery back into their "final" resting position...

Image

Image

The front piece was the one that was bothering me anyways, ..... :?

The boat starts to narrow up in that area....Plus I had to notch the end to slide around the dashboard legs, ..... :(

After an initial cut, ...and then the inevitable, .....takin it in, ...and out, ....to shave a piece here, ....cut a piece there. .....I was almost ready :D

Just the notches and storage section to cut out...

Not quite deep enough, ....damn!!! :x

Image

Now it had to come out one more time, ...to cut out the centre part

Image

Yeeh ...hah!!!!!

Image

from the front....

packrat wrote:Looks like its coming along just great Skooter. One word of advice  check to see if you if you're missing any tools before you close her up. Been there done that :P
All tools present and accounted for, .......I think.....

Now I'm starting on the storage covers....

First pieces cut for the front...

Image

There will be a double layer of boards when she's done, ...just wanted to see what it would look like...

Here's the back pieces...and with the "curtain" down, ...in running mode

Image

This shows where the rear pedestal seat will sit....
:D
Image

I'm thinkin for Quinte, ...the old "back to backs" are goin in, ....then I just need to intall the drivers seat pedestal, ......

Final chore of the day, ....put a good coating of that waterproofing on the entire floor, ....it soaked in pretty good, ....so a second coat is in order, ...later in the week...

All that's left now, ......is the details, ....a lot of details mind you,
....but I hope to have her ready to roll by next Sun..... :D

Thanks to everyone for your support and help in this "afternoon" project... :!: :!: :!: :D :D

So what do y'a all say, ..... Think she'll float....?

I'll still keep everybody updated, ....till she's done like DINNER!!!!(speakin of which)...

just so you know that when you are ready to install the rivets let me know because I have the air chisel and I also picked up the proper tool with the right concave just for boat rivets all a person has to do is to put a weight on the inside and squeeze the trigger and rivet is in and mushroomed so no more leaks tm

:D :D :D

Hi gang.... :D

Boy, .....Long week, ....eh,

Didn't bother with any updates, .....just soaked the floor with the water proofing a couple of times, ......everyone says watching paint dry is pretty boring.....

Here's a pic of the floor with two coats on it, ....
:)

Image

This stuff takes an hour to "touch" dry, ......so don't go any further for at least that long, ....I really don't want "eye" prints, ...on my floor.....

Actually, ....last night, ....I put the front storage cover together, ..... :D

I varnished it today, ...first coat...

Image

Cut the pieces for my back cover and glued them too....

Image

Oh, ....It's there, ......under the "poor" man's clamp.....
The other "poor" man's clamp, ....is that board running off to the side there... :D
It's under tension, ...to keep the pieces tight together...

Here's the other end....

Image

I also finished up a few other "details"......

Last thing before the carpet, .....cut the hole for my pedestal seat :D

Of all the tools and equipment I have access to, ....a four inch hole saw, ....isn't one of 'em..... :x

It's "hands On" time, ......
Not the best at this "freestyle" stuff.......

damn, ....still not big enough....

Image

well, ...what do ya know.....

Image

Gettin a little late now, .....but I wanted to get the carpet in....

Image

Cut it to length, ....and threw it in the boat...

Image

It needs a haircut for sure....

Image

Out of time for tonite,..... wanted to let it sit in there for a bit anyways, .

Just to get the "roll up" memory out of it....
Well, that's my story, .....and I'm stickin (don't give me that look, .....it's dark for Chrisssse's...sakes)

So it's off to my "local" marina again tomorrow, ....Oh, ....and some perch fishing too....

I'll explain later.....

Just a final note, ......if anyone is interested in my old seats, .....

Image

Image

$50.00, ......I'm gettin the stuff tomorrow, to put my new seats in, ..."Hopefully"
.....So if ya want 'em, ...I can bring 'em to Quinte, .....

Just let me know soon, .....cause I may just stick them back in, for the trip up there...

Hopefully , ....the next update, ....she'll be ready to roll, ....sort of....

what can i say, i followed this thread from start and the first few updates (with pics) had me thinking " Oh Oh, i think hes screwed now" then the weeks go by and slowly "the plan......the project.......the repair...........ya you know what i mean starts to take shape. are you sure you havent done this before? the job looks simply awesome. all i can say is that i admire someone who can take the bull by the horns and it looks like you had to drag it around by the tail also. you are a true craftsman and job well done

on a side note, can someone help me change a lightbulb in the kitchen

Skooter, if I may ask just for giggles, how much has your curiosity cost so far?
