A New Record Rainbow?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I find it interesting that the fight was so short(10 minutes according to the article) Is this the norm for Rainbows? I caught a 17lbs at the same location about 5 years ago and it hardly fought compared to the salmon I caught that outing... nice jumps and all but no stamina. I've caught pike that have fought more than that!

Nice fish none the less... and I wouldn't care about loosing the fish to the MNR as long as I get a reproduction.

TROUT RECORD

It is official. After examining it, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters has declared the 40.68-pound rainbow trout the husband and wife fishing team of Joanne and Bruce Vendramin of Sudbury caught on Sept. 21 out of McGregor Bay, at the northeast corner of Georgian Bay, the new Ontario record for the species

What they did with the fish must be part of the protocol for record fish, Markus had a clue with another record close to him.
