Where's everyone fishin this weekend?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hey Tallpaul I'll be at Lake Clear tomorrow also. My friend and I will be in a maroon colored Lowe bass boat. I haven't been there since thanksgiving so I assume the smallies have gone deep(20-30ft.). We plan on hitting most of the islands about half way down the lake. If you are in a canoe you should be able to paddle out to the first island and try fishing anywhere along the north/west side of it. I 'll keep an eye out for a guy in a canoe tomorrow and I'll see how you are doing.(If it's walleye you are after they were catching those around that island in the 10-15 ft. range last time I was there. They were hitting green tubes like crazy.)

Hey fishmaster...

Well, I was up at the lake, but didn't get to do any fishing... on my way out on Sunday, I saw a bassboat fishing around one of the islands... I slowed down to watch/wish... but that was Sunday, not Saturday, so it probably wasn't you...
How'd you guys do?
I did some "winterizing" of a cottage there, and the invite to return next summer is already there... so you can bet I'll be trying it out next year!! :)

cheers,
tallpaul

Hey Tallpaul,
We were there on Saturday for most of the day. The fishing was really tough, we caught one nice walleye (21inches) and 2 smallies one dink and the other 3.75 on the digital. The wind blew up on us in the late morning/early afternoon which made it awfully chilly. I think we were fishing a little to shallow, both the smallies came out of 20 to 25fow but I was having a hard time convincing my buddy to fish that deep(damn summer fishermen). Oh well, it was still great to be out there, I may go back one more time if we get a nice day. :D
