Quinte - Going Back Nov 5/6th - Wanna come?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

WIG, seeing how we are staying at the Sportsman, I'm just gonna trailer mine. I'm gonna launch at the ferry Saturday morning at 8:30 and I'll see where I go from there...depending on the fishing.

JignPig and I will be there on Sat. What ramp and channel are people going to be using? I will have a Humminbird handheld for the weekend, I'm not sure what channels people have used in the past.

Also is everyone going to get together on Sat. night for a few pops somewhere? We won't be staying overnight as we live in the area, but it would be nice to have a chat and relax after a day on the water.

Furious.

Markus, I am staying also at the Sportsman...and by the looks of it, many of us are as well, so why don't we all launch from the ferry????

Channel 4 on the radios?...no sub channel?

Cheers!...and speaking fo cheers...FURIOUS, I think that is a great idea!

We'll all be trailering I'm sure, it's just a question of where we launch. I'll wait to see what's up first. That ferry launch can be a #%$@* if the winds are coming in there the wrong way!

There's also the spot right near the point, across from the ferry! We'll see :!:

Just be careful there as it can be shallow and it's not the best with no docks etc...

Anyone else verify these? I took one reading, pretty sure that's it :!:

DrB,

Picton's pretty small. Depending on which way you come, if you come down 49 into town, you'll come by the beer store and then to a 3 way intersection. Turn left and the launch is right down the hill, beside Tip of the Bay Motel. Just remember, if you get lost, ask for Tip of the Bay.

If you come down 4 to 33 to the Glenora Ferry, there's a launch right there at the Ferry you can use, depending on wind direction. Otherwise, cross the ferry and it's 9 km to Picton once you cross the ferry.

As far as where to fish, just head out of Picton harbour and you'll see the Reach opposite the cement factory which is on the left, we'll likely be starting in there somewhere...

See you there :!:

Markus may be able to help out with the hats :!:

Hey WIG.. are those nums the ferry launch

Dr B,

I think the planar board Turkeyman is bringing are the dual style intended for a planar board mast. Have you got one of those?

BTW folks, I'm going to make a point of coming in along Bath road just to get a good idea of how the weather is before the ferry. There is a launch in Bath, so if the weather is really rough around Glenora, I'll let you know how it looks further east and maybe we can trailer up there.
