Lots off critters were scurrying around the road and ditches, so I knew that was a good sign the fish would be active. I got set up in the dark and right of the hop I landed 2 bullheads.

7:30 came and it was time to head to work. I worked the presentation back to me and didn't a third fish hit...hard. Finally I had a good fish on! I played him for a while. After losing a big fish earlier in the week, I went with a more cautious and slow approach.

I had him beat and on his side at my feet. A beautiful 7-8lb male brown. I guided him to a nice landing area and with one last tail thrash he came unpinned and slowly swam off. I nearly puked I was so disgusted.

Back at it in the am. I need a lift a good fish, these shakers aren't cutting it!
