Gordo/RJ's Ice Hut Project.....(Updated Dec. 11th)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

RJ, I wouldn't bother with the lockable box/bench... thieves will take all your stuff in one shot. I wouldn't recommend leaving anything of value in your hut and always make sure people can see in your shack and nothing is in plain sight, it's an invitation for thieves and your door doesn't look all that hard to bust thru as it is  I do recommend locking it though, I've had people saunder in and help themselves to my shovels, tackle, scoops, etc. in the past.

On a less grim note - you'll have nice mild weather to paint 'er up in Sens colours over the next two days. Get 'er done boys, can't wait to fish with you guys down there!

Have to agree with bucket, a lock will invite vandalism....

Seen it too many times...Besides, not hard to load everything up each trip.

How you fastening the stove down? If you can bolt it through the feet somehow and brace with metal on the underside, I'd strongly recommend it...

It'll be the first thing to go :!:

Lookin' good boys, looking good :!:

Any pics of the roof finished with the tin ? Like to see how it turned out..

:D :D :D :D

Looks awsome guys......(er, ....I'll reserve comment on the colour, ...now, ...and later)

Just curious, .....Do you not throw any insulation in the walls? :?

It would definitely cut down on the heating bill...... :D

I gotta agree with Markus about the door brace, .....It may be rock solid now,
.....but "gravity" has a way of making things, .....shall we say, .. "come unglued"

.....Just ask the "fairer" se  (Christ, ....never mind)

That looks really great RJ . I agree with the other guys as far as the keeping of equipment there. When I had my hut , I had stuff stolen by some morons. My friend lost more than me but it still feels like you've been violated. I was really mad ,initially I could not figure out how any fisherman could have the gall to steal from another. But Soon realized my mistake. It was apparently done by some "you knows", (can't use such words on this site) rather than fishermen.

I hope that you have an enjoyable time with that masterpiece and many successful outings.
Life goes on
