I reserved the boat, but at that time of year, I think we were the only ones renting. He delivered and retrieved the boat at whichever launch you wanted. The gas was even included in the price.
You have some great pictures to look back on. The scenery off the lakes is really pretty.
Can you imagine getting into some of those lunkers (like the replicas)?! You'll have to go back some time for a rematch: maybe for Slushy's 50th (which of course is EONS away).
Great report, guys.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
I'm very happy to hear you had a chance to fish famous Lake Fork. My brother and sister-in-law own a house on this lake now and it is quite a lake to fish when the winds aren't at gale force. October and November has always been good to me with some of the best crappie fishing I've ever done in my life. All the big fish head to the major bridge pilings and put the feed bag on before winter. We caught at least a dozen fish over three pounds our last trip. The bass also are very aggressive and often swipe at the Crappie your reeling in. The LMBs are the Florida strain and are a lot stronger than your typical fish.
Funny story...we're catching crappie, bass, and yellow bass throughout the day under the bridges and I snagged a line. So I start pulling in the line expecting a rod/reel to be attached (which it was), but was suprised to also see about a 7lb large mouth attached to it as it had a 12" Crappie in its mouth/stomach. I snapped a pic, cut the line, saved the rod, and let the happy bass go.
You have to go back again in the Spring or Fall...summertime is just too darned hot to fish comfortably. Now if I can just get my wife to fund a trip down for me again!
