Any Bluegill Tips?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Any Bluegill Tips?

Post by duber »

I have had enough of the crap ice here on the BoQ so we are going to a little lake north of here that is suppose to be home to some monster bluegill.I have caught a few big ones in the summer with the kids as well as when mudcating on Kennebec lake but i have never targeted them in the winter so i am looking for some tips from the pros. Were do we start looking for them? Deep, shallow, weeds, structure?I have a asortment of small teardrop jigs and have my ultralight rod rigged with 3 pound floro.I thought i would try to get some wax worms at the local pet store and have some "gulp" maggots in white and pink.Any other tips for bait or presentation would be great. Is there any part of the day that tipicaly is beter.I should mention that i have a vex and a aqua-view to help me out to.Any info would be great.

Thanks
Wes
