Did I Miss Something?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Guys it's not like it's a top secret fishing club or anything..

Markus created a closed private forum to protect against:

1) Lurkers stealing location information and fishing areas out

2) "Trolls" or site disturbers who contribute nothing and mock others

That's all. He has nothing against any members of this site, nothing personal. It only makes sense that after the threats and everything he endured he would create a place that has the same general family feeling as FH without all the other "disturbances".

Hey guys all you have to do is look at the posts, this site is alive and well. Just because a few posters leave don’t mean a site will die. Fish-Hawk is a great message board and will continue to be in the future I hope, with our input. For every member that moves on 10 new ones will join. I have met a lot of great people from this site and am looking forward to meeting a lot more. So give up the negative posts and try making a few good ones, when you start to make negative posts it's time to move on.

Keep on Fishing and Posting :!:

Joco, We have more active members here than on most boards. you have to keep in mind that this is still the internet and Fish-Hawk is just a median for us with the same interests to interact and a damn good one at that. just keep up the posts bud. yours are some of the best here :!:

It takes posts to create posts and that communication to make friends. Yep, there are a good number here not posting in the capacity they did, so, those that are posting keep doing so and others will as well in time.

Differences right now in contrast to last year. Only a few less folks, and, no Online Derby. That Derby created alot of buzz during the ice season last year when it was in it's first few months. Now with both things missing, it's bound to be slower.

Ontario anglers can also find other sites with great info and great people as well. Since last fall I have begun to frequent 3 others and am glad to be talking with new people. Some folks that were here are other places too, and in the case of Markus, he's off doing what he feels best.

Rider says it well too, that with people who move on you can expect others to come along. Likely some of the old "heavy hitters," as someone put it, won't be as active here, so that just means there's room for others to be.

There's a good number of people that do, or should too. This site and no others like it, have created some great opportunities and lasting friendships for a lot of people. You can't "knock" that Jig can ya. :D

BBR are you saying someone that was using FH threatig markus?? That is not cool  I would probaly stop coming here too if that happened and I just found this place and think its great :D Everybody here seems real friendly. The only thing wrong is there is not enough SW ont guyes here but all the info Ive gotten from everybody has been great. Makes me want to move back to Lindsay. That place was like one big fishing camp it was great  I just thought we should thank all the guyes who are running this site because its great.

Well said Mr. Bunk. Several things can happen for a person not to post....they may have found another board that has peaked their interest...things have changed in their personal lives that don't allow them to spend as much time posting...family commitments...etc...Internet boards go through phases from what I've seen over the many years. Members cycle through. It's inevitable. You will cross paths with many people on a board....some will become close friends...and others will be simply a blip on the radar..As was mentioned earlier...it just leaves room for others to post , and the opportunity to meet more people with the same interests. I'm sure I'll see alot of new faces at the RUMBLE 06 this year...and a few familiar old ones too....

It is unfortunate that some people leave sites. But usually when one leaves someone else joins. I am on alot of other boards and try to contribute when I can. I have met some great people on this site such as Mikey and doctor wedge to name a couple. I will try to step up on any questions that I can help with. I am an avid bass tourney angler and also a guide when my schedule allows. Feel free to ask any qustions about gear, lures, locations (if I have fished them) etc and I will try to help out as much as I can. This board is very informative and from what I can tell a great bunch of members. Just think open water is right around the corner. :D

Change is inevitable. I have been posting to boards since 1988 and have shared information with people from around the world. At present I am invoved with 67 fishing boards (sounds like a lot eh!) but the reality is they individually offer something that keeps my interest up. Fish-Hawk is easily my home board, locally there are many fine fisherman and those that visit from outside the immediate area bring up lots of tips and techniques that have great value. As far as people leaving and starting their own boards - that"s how this internet thing grows. Some will be successful and others will migrate elsewhere.

Great boards are that, for a very simple reason - "the people" and we have the best here.
