Tip Up Plans.

Here are a few I started today...

As you can see I knoched a gap in the base to wedge the top peice in snug.

Fiberglass rods attached to a door spring.....

I have yet to buy the door springs and spools to complete the tip-up...Tomorrow I should have a finished product..

Built a few for jigging rods

2nd time round

Best yet, breaks down in seconds and can be carried easily

Already have ideas for improvements just no time to make them

hi guys, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I haven't got a digi cam yet, so I can't send you guys pics, but they are very similar to the ones tipup has made. I usually leave the bases at home, and just stick 'em in the snow. The top of the vertical piece is cut on an angle, and the spring is mounted on the angled face, so that it doesn't stick straight out. The spool is mounted on the side with a bolt and a wing nut. The wing nut acts like a "drag".....tight enough to hold, until they decide to run and they can take out line. I painted the ends of the dowel red so that they are easier to see. Sorry about the pics...hopefully i can post some soon!

Yup same design as I have started...Spring will be on a 45degree..These tip-ups will be used for pike and trout. As walleyeboss has noted, it is hard to detect the shy bite of a walleye with these tip-downs.

Jocos Tip-ups and tip-downs...

I had a chance to borrow a few of these babies of Joco..Great designs, and all are very durable.

Ice fishing maniac as myself...or maybe to lazy to get up and jig the rod...Built myself a remote jigger....batteries not included...

great tip ups guys.........

remore controll tip up.........

,,,,,,can you lift the fish to....mabe a little winch and you could winch the fish out off water without even go to your tip up.....

......

the probleme i had wit my tip up...like yours.....was my door spring,,,,wen i put a sinker and a good size bait...the sring was not strong anaught...so it went dow,,,,,,,,

.....i put an elastic to help it to hold up......i am some ajustement to do on my sring tip up...and the umbrala one to......

Hi Joco

I made some of those door spring ones too and what tip if they are too sensitive like you are saying is to shorten the stick, the longer they are the easier it is to pull it down.
