Buckhorn Lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Give the Upper Buckhorn a try. My inlaws had a year round place there near the Scotsman Point Resort. ( 6 foot Bay Rd ) .
On this map...
http://www.fish-hawk.net/Map_project/ma ... n_Lake.php
at the intresection of G5 , my BIL and myself hooked into a 48"+ Muskie. 30 minutes of chasing it around the lake with a tinny as the thing hit on 8lb test line with no leader. Wore it out and in to a brand new net( with at least 10" of tail still hanging out after filling the net ). 10 seconds later, with the hook out, big head shake and he walked througfh the side of it. That was the last we saw of it. Try the weed edge beside the Red channel marker. Since I don't get up there any more , thats the spot.

Enjoy and good luck.

I haven't been for a few years, but a couple of possibly useful tips include fishing for walleye by the channel markers/rock off of Scotsman Point, and for muskie, we've had our best luck with smaller lures (in the summer anyway...), like 6 inch baits rather than the 13 inchers we use for Georgian Bay.

Good luck

Bass won't be open yet... Walleyes in the channels on bucktail jigs are a good bet.

in front of scotsman point is a nice walleye rock and in the bay is good for bass. Follow the shor south from scotsman point and you will come into a channal. Watch for a Very shallow shole connected to the island and if u can get over it ur into amazing bass. I havent had any muski but i hear there are a ton if u can get to teh dee weed edge anywhere off the shore south of scotsman point
