Lebarons
LeBarons
Was talking to one of the young women who works there. Sounds like a June move. They're moving into what was the old IGA store up near CJOH. If memory serves, its about 4 or 5 times the size of what they have currently. Maybe a bit more... all depends on how they lay it out.
Is it true that Cabelos is building a store on the West Island of Montreal?
Cheers

I hope they hire an entire new staff though.
It is right beside the new Partsource.
There should be a sign on the window of the Grand opening, I'll check it out

The upside of a yearly trip or two to Cabelas would be for the quality of the clothing and footwear they've got. Otherwise, I agree its a bit far (and with the price of gas) precludes going down on a regular basis.
As to the size of the new site for LeBarons. 4 times is not a bad size, considering the cramped quarters they've got. I tend to ignore the staff side of things (Enter Store, Find Product, Go to Cash, Leave) - but like others have noticed the attitude from time to time. They're nothing on the staff at a store my wife frequents for "Quilters/Sewing" here in Kanata - honest to God, dealing with them at times is like having a tooth pulled without freezing...
Life is too short. Jeepers!

Spence, do go on. Many will agree with Braeside on this one.
I hope management decides to revamp their staffing policies with their new store. Even though I'd prefer to send my cash to Ed or any other smaller tackle shops in the area, I still find myself in your store from time to time. If I had a dollar for everytime I've been told that an item is completely sold out only to have a friend or fellow FH'er buy the exact product there the next day, I'd have a few more Spro frogs in my arsenal this year. Happens all the time when there's a lack of knowledge and initiative on the part of the sales staff. Which leads me to the next Q, is it a prerequisite to know anything about the product you're selling at this store? And would it kill anybody to come up and ask me if I need some assistance trying to locate something in the store?
Sorry for the rant, here's where you interject with your words of wisdom.

Lack of knowledge always leeds to false assumptions on other people...
Spence
Instead of sticking your foot in your mouth , I'd be thinking of ways to change popular opinion about the cr@p that cloudes your place of employment
With Cabelas , Allmuskies and Bass pro shop encroaching on your turf you better be thinking about being put out of business
Not to many people have to much patience for Bull@#$%
Know what I mean??????
How many people that walk through the door do you think lack knowledge
My last experience at LeBaron was positive. I bought a tent and the staff were helpful....once I asked. They really had no knowledge of the product, but they tried.
However, (sorry Spence) I regret to say that this was the exception and that my experiences with Lebaron have not always been positive. Their management is responsible for the store's shortcomings.

Time's fun when you're having flies.
I have never ever had a problem with lebarons myself. The staff at lebarons has helped me out soo much. Whether its about tips an tricks or sometimes a spot to try i have always found the place a postive atmosphere. If you ask me I heard the staff works pretty hard considering the fact they work 6 days a week at times. Also not getting weekends off (well sundays) and not having 2 days in a row off. I personally have nothing against them myself. I understand if you look for a product and it may not be there at times. Maybe they got a shipment in the next day who knows thats life.
As for impropriate language thats not right but if there is a problem with somethin they say speak your voice and confront them.
Jus my two cents!

I've spoken to ppl who have had nothing but positive experiences with LeBarons. I myself have NEVER been asked if I needed assistance, even though there were times it was quite obvious that they were occupied talking about their personal lives and really couldn't have been bothered.
Sorry Spence but thats my experience.
