Bunk, Float and Fun. POUND KESAGAMI. Report. (pic heavy)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hi Bunk
Great report and photos. You surely couldn't have picked a better weekend to get out. Those pike were pretty darn good. Glad you kept Floatfish'n busy catching eyes. they sure don't put up a battle like his Chromers. That other old Halton Hills guy FFF looks like he had quite a time up there with you. What a way to look after yourselves taking Bren out and letting her show you up for the day.
If you don't cross the CO's they can be your best buddies on the water. Keep catching and enjoying the season and carry on with your fantastic reports.

Tuff to know where to begin on this one

Well, 1:30 am I meet Martin in North Bay, and we were off.

Martin on no sleep, Float on a 2 hr snooze in the ride with Rox, but both of us wide eyed with thoughts of Bunk land, and giant toothies in our minds

We drove in total darkness, and luckily, did not encounter any Moose (No pun Bunker )

Ran into Cochrane for say 6:15amish, and right into timmies.

Went and tour'd the vast land of Cochrane for a bit, and then back to timmies So as we were in line this lad was comin in through the out door, tryin to get in the drive through Martin bein the kind soul he is, lets him in, after others had just kept him from squeezin in. We get to pay for our joe's, and the lady says, "The lad got these for ya boys, no charge" Wow we thought, do a good deed and the lad right away recognizes it and chips for our coffee's!!!!

Soooooooo we wander into Scrappy Tire round 8:30 to find a real decent place, (Nothin we did not already have, but a real good selection!) I had to spend a buck or 2, and bought Bunk a box of crayon's for his future art work

We board the train, thinkin its on route for 10:15 am, YA RIGHT We sat in peril for over 3 hrs!!!!! Then we start movin, ya right!!! We stop because someone forgot to load a fridge Well, then we're off, FINALY!!!!

I'll let Martin's pics speak of our train ride, cause he got some great shots!!!!

We got there in fine fasion to see Bunker sittin on his truck waitin for the Southern lads He says, "Beer's on ice boys, lets make er across the river" It was a river alright

We got into his place after runnin the Island for a min, and learnin a few spots that held, not only fish but wildlife too!

Into to meet his lovely bride Brenda, and 2 of the most adorable little girls I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Summer, and Leah were there to greet us aswell, with Leah always there to run to Bunk and Bren to say "Hi Mom. Hi Dad" Angles they both were!

The beers flew, and we got to hear stories, tell a few, and all in all just happy to be with my Brah again!

Next Morn you all know the fishing tales, but holy $hit!!! I have never boarded a plane like that b4 I was already nervous, but then after I opened my eyes about 5 mins after take off I see tree's that are 9000 ft below us

Scared you ask??? $HITLESS!!!!!!!

We land, and I tell ya it was heaven!

We get a few punched, and well, you read that part already These are no Ottawa R eyes I tell ya!!! They crushed every offering, not a little tap, but WHAMMMMMMMM Everytime!!!!

After Bunk puts the tar to his pig pike, it was my turn to run for my flag, not once, but 3 times this fish popped it!!!! 3rd time, the 31 comes out, and Martin is into that beast!!!

Bunk had to throw in that our flags, were southern garbage, and only the PIKESLEYANATOR Would play damage, well we taught a thing or too, or 18lbs worth anyway

As for us, I'm not thinkin I'll get a contender pike, but hey, no worries, I'm havin the time of my............ My jiggin rod, takes flight with drag screamin off!!!!! I thought I had Moby Dick!!! This head comes up the hole, and ohhh ya baby, Kevy ohh no its down the hole again, only a 10lb lead on.....But Martin swings into super hero action, and the next time his head is up the hole, Martin even takes a few teeth in his paw, but she was on the ice!!!!!!! 37" and the Buckshot was still on the lead, which had no fray only a tiny knick in it!!!!

Home that night.

Next day, we head out on the sleds, I aint to fond of that kind of speed to begin with, but Bunk's budd, Claude has a sled with a back rest and a pair of oh crap handles, alright!!!!!

Sunked on the river, but where we ended up was purely heaven if I've ever seen it!!!! This cabin a 5ys project, in the middle of the bush, on a small river, and no one for miles, man it was the most beautiful place on earth!!!! And Bunk's burgers were awsome there too!!!

K Lake pt 2, nothin to add for Bunk got her down in his post

Except...... We hit some (according to Bunk and Martin) "Very Mild" Turbulance on the way home I've never been so friggin scared in my life Bunk is havin a ride, Martin is lovin it, Bren doesn't flinch, I'm crap cinder blocks

But we landed in fine forum

I went into the town of Moosenee to get some well needed pints, go with Bunk's directions, and found the place. Got a Taxi to get me back over, and that road will be closed if not already, crap it was 4' of water on soem parts

But back and Bunk cleanin eyes with exact percision, and Martin whipped a few too, but man his Cronzy was priceless

My trip home was a total of 17's to my front door.

This weekend's means of travel

1-Roxy's car times 2

2-Martin's car times 2

3-Train to Moose then back times 1

4-Bunk's Truck

5-Bunk's sled times 2

6- Bush plane times 4

7- River Taxi times 2

Bus- times 1

A load of travel, but mannnnnnnnnnn all worth it!!!!!

In finish, I'd like to thank truely, Bunk, Brenda, Summer and of course Leah And Martin for offering to go the distance and if I was to miss my bus, what a guy, offers to drive me into Ottawa to make sure I got home!!! Martin, your top shelf bro!!!!!!!

I'd also like to thank our wonderfull bartender on the train on our way up!!! She was so freindly, and kept us both smilin the whole way!!!! Always made sure we never went dry, and always made sure we never went hungry, or thirsty in our stay in the dining cart!!! The beer was exceptionaly cold too!!!!!

You a doll hun!!! I'll have a picture up here of her aswell, I told her to see our report, for she was excited to hear about it on our return trip on the trian!!! So if anyone boards the Polar Express, look for the dove of a bartender and your ride will be just that much better!

Her name was Ilene, and she made our trip up that more enjoyable!

But really, Bunk and family, you guys gave me the opp to see heaven in person, and I am forever in your debt for giving me such the opportunity to make a dream a reality!

Bunk, Love ya BRAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! Ice fishin will never be the same !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with FFF, the CO's with OPP in the air as back-up were probably looking for the bunch of poachers coming over from the Quebec side.

Thanks ya'll for the kind words. It was a fun report in the making and great company for the weekend.
