fair price?
I am by no means an expert in this and a most guys in here would know better than me. As for the motor 20-40hp range is a very big differenve wen it comes to pricing. As for the boat I would think a lot would have to do with, the year it was made, the quality of how its built, how deep it is etc. Same for trailers, quality of how its built, wheels, bairings, etc...try an example and Im sure some guys will jump in here and give you a better idea
not really sure on the specs. id say perfect would be about 16' 40 hp but a smaller engin will do. the baot being a lil deeper would be good as i have to deal with strong current and on ocasion some heaver chop. mayB 18' would be ok. not looking for a new boat as an older model will do just fine as long as its in good condition. dont need a fancy livewell or lighting or anything (i can wire that myself) trailer need not be anything more than something safe to move my boat on also. any info would be great thanks......

sry to to shure on specifics.... i want a boat that can handle chopy water and a strong current however i dont want a large boat. long short short sterdy is good....the age of the boat is not important to me as long as it is in god condtion... probly early 90s... the motor i want a fairly new model 99+ with relitivly little use because i want a motor with some life left in it aslo i would like to keep breakdowns and maintinence to a minimum (just the basic mantanence and winterising and what not) i know many older motors are very good however i have a very limited knowlege of a motor and must be able to keep it running... thank you
jebby.....sry dont really know

If you want a stable boat then a 90 inch beam or greater will be a prerequisite. Weight also allows the boat to 'sit down' and prevents a greater degree of bobbing on the water in rough conditions.
If you head down to the Detroit river this week you will see lots of boats on the water as the FLW walleye tour is presently fishing a tourney out of Trenton MI. This will give you a good idea of river conditions and boat types available
Good luck...
