I have a pflueger trion. It is a very touchy reel to cast. Not a good choice for a beginner.
I would consider the pflueger echelon pr the quantum mantra

I agree with Mr.J The diawa 153HST is an awesome reel, You will not struggle with this reel as you can throw a husky jerk into the wind without backlashes.I firmly believe you get what you pay for when it comes to baitcasters. Adjust the magnets and you will do fine...I taught my son to throw one when he was 9 on this reel. At a 6:3 ratio he can crank in a spinnerbait effortlessly. I have 7 of them I like em so much.
There is always situations where spinning reels essential, from dragging tubes and jigs to skipping bait in trees or under docks. But throwing topwater/spinnerbaits/cranks/jerkbaits you just cant beat the comfort and ease of a baitcaster.

Here's something you haven't discussed. Are you RH or LH? How do you like your spinning reel? Cast with your right, wind with your left? How are you going to work your baitcaster? Cast with your right, switch the rod to your left, then wind with your right? There's a lot more choice available for RH baitcasters.
