what to do when Fish aren't biting?!?!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

what do you guys do when fish arent biting. i'm not talking to those who are lucky enough to own a boat. but rather the shore fisherman, the ones that don't mind a hike once in a while. what do you do when the fish aren't biting???

I smoke (cigarettes), well up until 4 days ago when I quit I smoked. I guess now I'll be ripping trees straight out of the ground and using them to bat large rocks into the bush. Perhaps near the end of the summer I'll do something differant; like enjoy the peaceful scerene......%#@^&*% I NEED A SMOKE!!!!!!!

Even with a boat, if you are board there isn't really much you can do either; only difference is your left hand is occupied with the tiller.

Fish are always biting... Its their natural instinct to eat and not be eaten.. In my opinion its the only way to look at it. Fishing is all about conditions. Conditions either favor you or not. My strategy or move would be exploring new waters or using different baits.
Sometimes you got to put the bait on their lips to convince them to bite.. Fish are always willing to eat you just to to find what they want. Most of the times fish dont even bite out of hunger just aggression or reaction strikes. So theyre always fish biting somewhere you just got to find them. So what do I do when Im not getting bites. I throw every lure in my tackle box (not literally) but I throw as much as I believe needed, or move to different water where conditions may be different example water clarity.. And if that doesnt produce atleast you know you tried everything possible. I fidn doing this Ive learned more about what kinds of conditions fish bite best and which days I know Im going to have to work harder to land a few decent fish. Fishing is all about conditions.. Learn fro mit it will put more fish in the boat when guys around you arent...

However on shore your a little more limited to where you can go!

Good luck fishing
Best regards

Spence

if... they aren't biting..

just believe that they will bite.. this will get you going until you are tired, or its dark enough that you gotta go home ..cause your hungry. then you come back the next day, buy couple more lures, bait, and try again. eventually they gonna bite.. no way out!!! like this or like that.. they will bite. i done this many times!! trust me it works.

If they're not biting... try a different Lake, don't know another Lake try throwing something different, if not try to get a boat, or float tube or canoe, if still no luck, well....

well i've been skunked bad recently in the trout lakes. and i've tried smoking my days... nothing. making a fire....nothing. smoking some more.... nothing. wishing for fish...nothing. wishing for a bite....nothing. going from minnow, to worms, to little mepps.....nothing. well it's great just getting out. but i would like to come home with a brookie or some sort of trout one outing. well hopefully you guys are getting out, and dipping your lines in water. soft water that is....

going back to conditions, which conditions is better for trout. i'm talking little 14 inch brookies????

he best conditions for brookies in the bogie...finding a lake not accessible by truck. We have got some on the roadside lakes; the odd one here and there. It's the back lakes that get you the fish...then again; we got skunked the other day to so...ice-out brookies is also a difficult task in itself...

Find a place where a tree has fallen in the water..the minnows will be there.
The trout in these small lakes usually bite for about an hour (at dawn & dusk)..very little inbetween. Weird but true.
