Cats this evening (Report)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Cats this evening (Report)

Post by Pints »

With this storm front moving in, maybe the cats will be active and feeding. Think I'll head out to Victoria Island this evening and give them a try.

Yes, another great evening with some of my fellow fish-hawkers. As joco said, the storms all missed us. 19 cats, all 1 1/2 lbs and under. Lots of fun though. Were are those big ones? Maybe I'll try experimenting with some stink baits this summer. :)

Hey guys are you talking about bullheads or channel cats?

If there are channel cats around, try a chunk of rotten sucker meat, or a chub minnow with the head cut off. Leave the guts hanging out. It will take a while for a bite, but you'll get big ones, and no annoying bullheads.

Good work on the cats anyway. :)

BBR. channel cats only. That is the next avenue of attack. Big stinky baits on larger hooks. That should help eliminate the smaller cats, as much fun as they are to catch, bigger is the next excitement level :D
