ottawa river arnprior vs. buckhams bay

Hey guys,

I'm heading out tomorrow, which do you think I have the best chance at, the ottawa near arnprior as shown on the map project, or at buckhams bay?

I want a good chance to catch some walleye's along with whatever, I just don't feel like getting skunked ya know.

Any opinions are welcome. and if I do catch some I'll post some pics monday.

Both are excellent walleye areas but Arnprior has the better launch and parking facilities.

If it was Bass season for you I would be able to recommend a prefered spot but in general I think you may have better luck launcing out of Arnprior.

I have not been too succesfull with Walleye in either location but I think it may be just a bit better in the Arnprior area. Plus I think the Muskie (I think it is open) fishing is a litlle better there as well. And if all else fails worms on a hook on bottom in some holes will keep you busy all day with Catfish.

I watched a TV show where they were dragging Catfish all day from the river right in front of the Arnprior launch. I also think that area is open now as well.

And if you have trouble finding any fish on the Ottawa river at Arnprior you can pick up drive 5 minutes and launch on the Headpond and try that are for some Walleye action. And on Saturday you can try for some Smallies in the Headpond.

Lots of pike in Buckhams over the last couple of weeks but since we were trolling spoons and spinners that's pretty much what we were expecting.

Had one small 'eye about 10" long. The Ottawa side shoreline between the bay and the marina seems to be good.

I don't know the Arprior area but the launch at Buckhams seemed narrow to me.
