hey all i spend alot of time vertical jigging for walleye on the detroit river.... i have come to love a singal 3 or 4 inch twister tail in wither natural browns or black and silver... always sented always salted..... i have tried a bunch of diff brands but id kinda like to know every1s thoughts....
whats all ur fav thoughts for soft plastics to jig for walleye? size style colour? ext
I'm beginning to prefer the "fluke" shaped plastics over the classic grub when jigging for walleye. Still, you can't go wrong to have the twistertailed grubs in your line up.

I have always done well on Yum grubs for walleye, bumblebee being my favourite color. 3 inch of course... I'm not much of a walleye guy but this always seems to get them on the kawarthas.
Paddle tails work very well also, like the Berkeley Jigworm. Might have a tough time finding them though. The best plastics in the waters I fish though is the Lunker City Finn-S.
The best twister tail grubs have been the 3" Kalin's Grubs...they are pretty hard to find as the company has been recently purchased.In clear water the blue -white-silver has been a very productive colour. Another favorite of mine is the Gambler 4" Flapp'n Shad, nice thump in the tail and works great pitching or vertical jigging.

6'' Saltwater series Flapp'n shads have been producing numbers of walleye this year too....I use to have a few Kalins tournament sample packs with a few of their grubs in it...Don't think I got arounf to trying them out though....
My favorite grubs are made by YUM .....I have has numerous fish miss the baits ,them come back for it a few times then take it....LPT
I like the 3" Kalin's Grubs as well ( I picked them up at the Valley Fishing show in the bargin bins )...I also really like the Phanton Grubs as they add some extra bulk which the fish want sometimes.
The plastics that work the best for me are the ones that catch the fish
For Ottawa area waters....WHITE seems to be the colour (or lack of) and I like using power grubs/minnows!
I as out getting skunked on Erie sat. with my brother and live bait was not working at all. Was using a bunch of stuff without any hits and decided to switch up and throw on a Berkly Power Bait white twister tail on a jig. First cast I was slammed by a nice sized smallie but I lost it at the boat. We left shortly after that but I was sure it was the ticket.
Another great plastic that works for walleye is the new "Realstix" from Berkley. I have only used the perch pattern but have had great luck with them so far.
asome... i fish the detroit river alot so the water is nasty... usually a green colour that u cant see more than a few feet into..... vertical jiggin is the way to go.... any sugestions on what colour would be best for that?
