Another Back Yard Bassin' Report

Decided to end the weekend with a few hours in the back yard, fishing our local jewel.

Brought out a online friend, Uncle Buck, for his first shot of a bass on the bay.

He managed one real nice one, but it spit his hook on the first jump. doh.

All in all, five bass were caught in about three hours of fishing...

Overall it was a great night to be out, even though the winds were howling, making it very difficult to work the patterns that we've had success with so far this season. Here's some pics we did take.

thanks guys.....since i started working, the bay has become my home....although i spent a lot of time on it before....

my persistance is actually starting to pay off.....

What are you finding works best up in your waters Steve??

well my friend, those are the secrets i like to keep to myself.

ive found rubber outproduces spinnerbaits 10 to 1, however, that bigger bass pictured above was taken on a spinnerbait....

the biggest key to finding fish in the bay is learning the wind patterns, as the water conditions are drastically affected by the direction (and power) of the wind.....

bobber, when i get home from work (4:30pm) i can be launched, and have my first cast taken, before 5pm.

so yepperz, i consider it my backyard....not to mention it feels private like a backyard....

i know if i haven't fished a certain tree in a while, that tree hasn't seen a cast since the last time i (or one of my close friends) hit the tree....

i'll find a six pounder this year....i believe by the end of the decade, i should have a 7-8 pounder taken from there....it has the size, bait, and proximity to a great lake to produce such a fish....

i'm heading down to the ramp tonight to have a view of a friendly tournament that is happening....all CFT guys...curious as to how they do.

Steve, don't tell any of those tourney guys your spots!

I think you should get into those tourneys with the results you are getting outta there. oculd mean some serious $'s!!!

i tried.....they wanted me to pay the 'club' fee on top of the tourney fee, even though the hammertown bay tourney would be the only one i entered....

not really worth it....especially considering i have zero interest in participating in any other tourney's.

i think i might head there now.
