This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Shore Fishing Port Dalhousie July 9 2006

Post by Bassmaster »

:D

Well originally I wasn't planning on going to Dalhousie this morning but after I heard the local forecast ie hot hazy and humid  didn't feel like broiling myself by fishing the Grand here in Brantford, at least Lake Ontario water is ice cold all year round and it would be cooler down there

It was quite windy out there and I had forgotten how long the trek is down to the end of the pier  Anyway moderate to strong NW winds were the order of the day, having the waves pound the pier probably helped.

Anyhooo after awhile I finally found the fish... didn't get a whole lot, panfish mostly, rock bass and perch and a few juvenile smallies all taken on worms. Stayed for 4 hours and decided to head home after the waves started coming on deck and the winds picked up substantially

Nice day over all tho!

:D How big was the rocky beside the knife? Catching any fish is better than none.

:D I forget how big that rocky was Salmon, will have to measure the knife next time I use it.

Tip Up: I have always eaten rock bass over the years. If they are big enough I keep them. Once in awhile I decide to target rock bass. Other guys might turn their nose up at them but sometimes they save an otherwise fishless day.
