I nailed this nice 41" today on a Musky Snax 8" Herring replica glider. Basically looks like a Cisco. I busted my @ss all morning and had one big one follow.
I went to a "spot on a spot" type location and said, "Well, these are the last few casts and I'm outta here!" to my girlfriend.
Bait hit the water...pull,pull...KABOOM!!! Thought I had a pike at first as I didn't feel too much weight...till she turned and made a run for the middle of the bay. #*^@ that fish was strong! Here's a look at her...
That was a very intensive morning on the water let me tell you!
I worked every spot I know holds fish and only had one big one follow early morning.
I fished as intelligently as I knew how and really tried to figure out where the active fish might be. Turns out it was in heavy cover under a floating pile of debris from trees that had drifted into the back bay I was in.
I caught three pike as well with the biggest one being 30" but that's not what I went there to catch so I stuck it out. It gets hard to concentrate on every single cast when you throw so many with no results but you have to be ready when they decide to strike.
Fortunately, I was ready and the result is a healthy musky caught and safely released. Please practice C.P.R. ( Catch, Photo,Release.)
