Deceided to jump in the boat with my Dad yesterday, and fish a stretch of the Rideau. The heat was bordering on insane out on the lake, and the sweat sure was dripping.
After Thursday's string of luck, I thought we might be in for a duplicate type of day. Not so fast, Stan.
The slop moves around a lot on this stretch of the river, and what is there one day, is often gone the next. Also, my stretch of tremendous docks and moored boats were full of activity, or missing the boats altogether, so that put a damper on the action. Needless to say, I was skunked in the bass department. (first time that's happened in a long, long time) I did get one scrawny little pike....
My old man, on the other hand, landed a decent fish from some slop on a flipping jig. What rubs salt in the wounds even more is the fact he was nursing a fairly decent hangover from being out at the pub celebrating the night before. (If anyone should of been on their game, it should of been me..) LOL
Saying that, its a pretty good feeling to see how excited he gets when he lands one. I guess you could say I was the guide for the day.
So, here is the only pic of the day...

There's always next time...
Good Fishing,
Justin
