Another story

:D Had a Princecraft and when it rained the swithches would fill with water(no cover) and short. Go out in the morning to hear a faint whirring and then try to find it. One morning no noise because the battery was dead. Get to ramp couldn't trim up motor. Went back home to charge the battery as it would have been too much for motor charging system to handle.
Check the wiring on the trolling motor as I have seen them have problems later on because of overheating. May have gotten hot enough to melt wiring insulation.

I had an old motorguide do the same thing a while ago. The wiring underneath my pedal was where most of the heat related damage occured. Check it out.
