Friendly meet and greet Pike and musky derby Sept 9

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Friendly meet and greet Pike and musky derby Sept 9

Post by Mr.J. »

So anyone want to get into a derby for pike and musky on the Rideau on September 9th?

This would be a great chance to meet some people on the board and get in some time hunting toothy critters, have some fun and make new friends and maybe even get some bragging rights too with your picture with the winning fish posted in this forum.

We'll all meet at the Kars RA launch in the morning, say 7am whistle blow (fish on) and fish till 12 noon and then head to Broadways in BarrHaven for some stories and pictures.

Just to kep it fun it will be $5.00 per species with 100% payout to the biggest fish based upon overall length, don't forget to pinch the tail.

Rules

1, Have fun and be friendly
2, One derby entry for pike and one for musky, you can do either one or both.
3, Have fun and be friendly
4, Digital cameras are prefered but a witness to fish size is sufficient, biggest fish is based upon length
5, Have fun and be friendly
6, Please practice catch and release but no one can force you to since you are legally allowed to keep pike
7, Have fun and be friendly
8, 100% payout for each fish species
9, Have fun and be friendly

Do you get the idea? this is a fun get together and a great chance for many of us to meet for the 1st time and for me to see some old friends I haven't seen in a while. I am going to use this opportunity to get someone out in my boat who doesn't get a lot of chances to fish from a boat and wouldn't it be great if others did as well?

So? Who's in?

Hey mr. J

Still interested, but I also don't have a boat. Will there be pairing up? Or do you know where I can rent one.

Hey Mr. J,
I hope I will be able to make it to this friendly competition but was just wondering what the launch is like in Kars, Sand, gravel, or paved. Reason I ask is that I only have a RWD SUV and if the launch is soft, I will dig two nice big holes taking the boat out.

Lmao Matt, let's just say Normware and MrJ. are both innocent victims of my now deceased alarm clock. Two fishing outings missed back to back, the busted transistors are testament to the frustration.

For Gods' sake Norm can't we let Mr. Wormy rest in peace too? Curse Mikey, that twisted cartoon making devil.
