first time on scugog report and pics!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

first time on scugog report and pics!

Post by pikeie »

well after exchanging pm's with bill and john, tinbanger and i decided to hit the bog. we didn't have high hopes in getting many fish. well we launched our boat at 7:15 am, was windy and cold so i stuck with my life jacket all day, helped keep me warm lol.

hit a spot that was told to us. fished it for a while and not one hit, we got alot shallower and i decided to throw around a slopmaster lol and one the first couple casts i had this bass follow it to the boat so i let it helicopter down and wham, fish-on ;D. well got him in the boat and it turns out to be a nice bass about 3 lbs.

Image

so after a quick pic back he went ;D

so go around to the other side of the bay and this is all we could get into....... rock bass aka wgsf lol

this one is for BBR lol

Image

so moved up to a spot that bill told me about and when we got there we could here the bass taking frogs off the surface, but heck if we could catch them lol. so i through around the slop master again lol and iget another hit, expecting another bass i was surprised when i pulled this up ;D ;D.... my first muskie ;D

Image

measured in at about 30 inches.

so we head right into the heavy slop and tinbanger is tossing around a senko and he says "damn wee...... oh never mind its a fish", lol pulled him into the slop real good but we got him

Image

so i think we did ok on our first day on the bog, and make sure that when ur on the bog , your boat is spitting water, a few times our moter was clogged but we got it fixed.

Great report and pics. Scugog can still produce good fish for sure.

I was out there last weekend. Caught a few decent sized bass in the slop. Had a simliar sized muskie charge out from some pads right beside the boat, hitting a 7" Texas rigged worm. Very cool to see.

The Scugog Bog!

Post by Abraxus »

Wow.. I tryed fishing Scugog on a Saturday not to long ago. I spent the whole damn day on that lake and caught nada! In fact it was perhaps the most uneventful day I have ever had on a lake to date! They were having a bass tourney that day and maybe it was a result of the boat traffic. Yahoo's ripping up the lake like crazy in 200hp+ boats. In any case, I am glad someone had success on the bog!
