TYhere arer a number of products on the market you can use. Any Fogging oil will work well. You can spray it in tjust as the last bit of fuel is being burned off the motor. Then I would disconnect the spark plug wires and spray fogging oil into each cylinder and crank over for a few seconds to distribute it.....larry

I Know it's early but just want to be prepared. I don't plan on packing it in till the end of October.

Just want to make sure I have everything I need before then.

Way too many fish to catch before then....

okay okay. You can buy fuel conditioner that will handle the fogging and fuel aspects for winterizing - I know Mercury has it, not sure for other makes of engine. CT sell a fogging spray, or alternatively for 2s you can remove the airfilter en plugs and inject 2s oil in, crank the engine over to spread the oil. You are trying to coat the cylinders and prevent rust on bore and rings. The fuel you are trying to prevent it from breaking down and "varnishing" We have had some very good posts here in the past and everyone has different ideas, the end goal is the same, rings/bore/fuel. Don't forget the rest of the boat. I had a speedometer fail over winter due to water in the line, I disconnect the pipe now. Clean everythng, grease all grease points, don't forget the trailer. 2 cans of WD40 everywhere, etc etc.

I just use the fogging spray (at CTC) myself and the fuel stabilizer. Spray the fogging oil with motor running until it starts to cough.

I also change out the lower unit oil.

Come spring, change the motor oil and filter as well.

Never have an issue.

WIG,
It would be better to replace the engine oil in the fall before you store the boat. The combustion process creates acids that are in the oil. Leaving the motor oil in place can have a negative effect on the internal engine parts. It's one less thing to have to get done in the spring also...Larry
