OK, doing my winter planning/ dreaming.
All of this talk of rod holders has me wondering what the ideal set up would be. I have something in mind, but my limited experience has me second guessing myself.
If you folks have any suggestions about how and where to mount rod holders/ riggers, etc, it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, share you thoughs on your set ups and what you like and don't like about them.
Pictures of course would be very welcome. Thinking particularly guys like Hoover, Turkeyman, Markus, ET, well, any of the big water boats really (actually small water references are welcome as well, we all have to put our rods somewhere).
Also, links to other sites that discuss this kind of thing would also be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance.

Going way back. Here is a little update on The Money Pit ... the 20' boat project.
Don't know if she'll see water or not in 2006. But I'm not going to rush this.
Got the console painted up.

Then the interior walls

The put the mowing fleet to work so I could paint the bottom.

Got the first coat on the non-skid floor

Got the sides pretty well done and mounted the VHF antenna

Picked up a power plant

Still have to paint the upper part of the boat and tie everything together. Then I'll be adding toys.

Hey M.T.
She cleans up real nice!
Great job; it's really coming along. You've got it this far; I'm sure you'll get her on the water!
Keep the pics coming. Kudos on your tenacity!

PS: Brian is enjoying his toy, errr, ATV very much, thanks! Actually, I am too. I give him lots of chores to do, like dragging branches and small trees down to our brushpile, picking up my Mom's garbage down the road, etc. It's the least I can do, right?
Seriously, he's even trailered it up to our Wolfe Lk. property, where it was a tremendous help in removing those HUGE oaks that were downed in the tornado of a few years past.

Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

A little update for folks who still remember this ...
The motor is on and running. I outsourced the wiring to a gent named Stuart Logie of Genuine Marine Services. He is a travelling mechanic and came right to the house to wire up the force. He ain't cheap, and he doesn't apologize for it. But he does good work and is finally someone in the biz that I trust. I highly recommend him.
Also, I picked up a kicker motor off of Carlco (still working on installation). I want to thank Laurentian Marine for the quick turn around (1 day) on getting me the control cables I needed. These guys are good people.
Mechanical is pretty much all wrapped up, just a matter of cleaning up and painting the top portion of the boat.
