RUMBLE report with some pics...

Post by Mikey »

Well, another RUMBLE has come and gone...and again another great day was had by all. What started out as a simple " Does anyone wanna go fishin" post a couple of years ago...has now turned into a yearly ritual for people to meet new faces....have a day on the water doing what we all love doing...and be part of a friendly day of competitive fishing amongst friends. This years event had a diverse cast of participants...from small tinnies to the most elaborate Bass boats....as some seasoned veterans from the various circuits showed up for a shot at the title. We even had a few show up who wouldn't be fishing, but wanted to simply come down to say hi....watch the launch / weigh in and have some fun.

Before I go any further. Some sincere thank you's. First off...to all the guys who unselfishly pitched in their time to help me organize the event...Spinner (Al the Publicist / Weighmaster)...John...(Accountant / IT support) ...Scummer (Launch Marshall and Livewell scrutineer lol!) Tip-up....(Marketing..and Cheif Trash talker extraordinaire ) and of course Billybob and Dana Wiswell ( Food and pallet burning experts ) Without the contributions of these people....the RUMBLE could not function.....my sincere thanks to all of you for ensuring such a great event continues to return each year and allows people from all over the internet to get together and enjoy their passion. . A well deserved thank you also goes out to Ed the Toobinator of Paddletales Tackle....Bill McQ from Title Shot Jigs.....Scott Morrison of Lake & Trail...and Mike from Fishing World...for supporting the event in one form or another....it's greatly appreciated.

I hope you all had as good a time as I did and will return to RUMBLE in 07. The part I enjoy most about this event is getting to meet all the faces from years past....and the new ones who come out to be a part of it. It was great seeing Plowjock (Brian) again...and learning his wife was doing well after her surgery...Dr.B...(Roberto)...a very nice fella who loves to fish...Murray "Poncho" Rogers ...story teller extraordinaire...Ed "Where's the chicken" Puddephat... Bobber "I got a hot date tonite" and the many others who make this such a great time to look forward to each year....

Next year may see a slight change in the RUMBLE format as I explore some new ways to improve the experience for everyone. While at the same time maintaining the " Keep it Simple" approach. One of the suggestions would be a friendly tournament involving Fish Hawk and Fishin-Canada. This would be a great opportunity to create a common and friendly bond between the 2 boards and to meet new faces that love to fish...plus the friendly bragging rights for a year would be fun to read too.. These types of ideas will be food for thought and discussion over the cold winter months. If you have any other types of suggestions...please feel free to add them...this is your tournament...again, thank you to all who participated...and created some great memories......here are a few pics...comic strips coming soon ;-)...

Regards,
Mikey

Besides covering an area that Gettinjiggywithit and I have never fished before and missing a few big fish, we had a great time and at least caught a few fish. Meeting a few new guys and seeing some ''Old'' faces was the purpose of this outing...Glad to see everyone out there 8) It was a great turnout for sure...Thank you Jiggy for the open seat in your boat :o She is a beaut...

Here are a few pictures that I took before the camera ran out of batteries

This was my first tourny and my first time fishing out of Rockland and even though I didn't do too well I enjoyed myself. :) I never saw so many nice boats in one place before! Some of those bass boats were awsome.... and the hot foot wow !! That 200 etec with the hot foot sounded like an indy car  .... and when Murry blew by me doing like 80mph  The highlight for me was getting to see some of these high powered bass boats in action :D I would have liked to go to MT's but I had a long drive back to Kingston :? I'll make sure next time I enter a tourny to check out the area first  Tip-up is a great fishing partner and I see many more fishing trips in the future....

It was a great day for sure, got to the launch about 7:15 or so and met up with John,Mikey,Seabass,Mr&Mrs Livewell,Jighead,RJ etc etc.It started to get really foggy and had a hard time to find the fishing spot that myself and MuskyMike were to try for the day,we found the place but it also was a day of misses for me, i never had so many "AH JEESS" in one day before.Alot of old/new faces and alot of laughs as well.My fishing buddy MuskyMike and Bottom feeder tied for the biggest pike of the day at a even 29 inches. I just want to say thanks to everyone who had a hand in this fantastic day of fishing, can't wait for next year.

Mikey,

Thanks for the humorous account of the day. Great, great pictures!

Get togethers are always a blast, and WOW! there were some quality fish caught. Congrat's JP! Spinner, yours is a beauty, too!

Wish I could join in, but it's just too close to the start up of school, and both boys were already down with something this week. If I had signed up, I would have had to cancel.

Must have been so much fun...

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.

This was a great day for me for a number of reasons:

First off I'm a walleye guy and what I don.t know about bass fishing could fill 500 books.

Partner Glenn Merkley had rods pre rigged for me and had me throwing a spinner bait (no backlashes) amazing. Flipping the edges with a Title SHot came to me within a few tries. managed to put two smallies and two northerns in the boat (none qualifiers but still satisfying to catch).

Combining the glorious weather and fishing with a friend for the first time even though we've known each other for 20 years was an absolute treat.

Putting faces to some of the names I've been talking to on these boards was a blast.

Looking forward to the next one. Tip-up, (exert your influence) try and make the next one on your "birthday".

Thanks Mikey and all who organized this event. It was truly a great time, even though the bite was tough. Heck, any day on the water is better than a day at work.

Cheers all.

What a great event on Saturday, Basster Mate, JoJo the guard dog and I really enjoyed meeting some new faces! Picked up a couple of pike and a scrappy little 2.5 lb bucket mouth. Unfortunately we had to leave for an urgency at home, all is well though! Thanks to all who organized, it was a very professional and fun event!
cheers
