Charleston Lake
Charleston Lake
One last attempt at this. any one been on this lake lately for bass? Never fished this one and will be there this weekend. Any input is appreciated
Was out last Sunday afternoon.
Got a few small smallies and a couple hammer handles. Couldn't seem to locate the larger ones.
Was printing fish suspended 10-15ft over 20 most of the afternoon. There were a number of bass boats zipping around but couldn't tell if they were having any success.
Sorry can't be more help

Rudebass,
I was at Charleston from 9/16 to 9/23. Got back too late to give you any current info. We did pretty good (100 + bass mostly small and medium but two 4-pounders between two guys). Considering we had two back to back cold fronts Mon. and Tues. which slowed things down a little, it was a very good trip.
How'd you make out on your first visit?

find the open water schools of baitfish. you can flip near shorelines early morning and late evening but the smallies move deep and suspend at around 10 to 20 feet and chase the schools around during mid morning and afternoon. try middle of Websters Bay. ive had days of catching not fishing out there. good luck and i hope this helps somebody
