weather......

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

jocco, Im not hijacking your thread, just a few quick hits of the same topic.

Tommorrows weather looks worse then todays for geeeze sakes.....
I'm going tho...out of Picton Harbour
Any others????????????????

Its been a year since we did the big rollers with winds 45-55k but we are geared for it.and geared up for it.
As stated earlier....anyone else heading out by the plant towards the L-House at all tommorrow, Sunday the 28th.

Kinda hopin for words of wisdom from some locals.......my wife is looking over my shoulder as to why (well, thats easy) but why in this weather,(safety/nuttty fisherman)

Didnt mean to hi-jack your thread jocco...just adding to it bud.thanx
BTW, In days gone by I would have just 'Gone Fishing'....these days I am a retiree and funds are select (fuel wise), the drive is not the shortest of events...however more then quite worth it if the weather is, EVEN, on the cooperation side.

I think you better find some small waters to hit tomorrow.

Today is the first day in 6 years of guiding that I had to cancel before even going out.

They called for 25-30K winds but at 8 am they were already 30-40k, we looked at Lefevre and waves were already 3 footers and made our way to L'Orignal and it looked pretty good on this half of the river. In the few minutes it took me to get my survival suit on and start to put my top up the winds doubled easy and were more like 60-80K. It took us like ten minutes to get the top secured enough that I could turn the truck around to have the winds in the right direction to finish the job, Man I would get the main part almost all snapped in where a gust would come and pop out 10 snaps or more to make me restart. There was 4-5 footers out there in no time and it also was rainning sideways.

Tomorrow they are calling for 40 k winds does this mean we'll be getting 100k winds instead.

I actually would forget about the Ottawa for at least a week, waters were up 2 feet already and had just started going down some 4 inches in the last few days. I bet before Monday we will be in flood stage and muddy as hell.

All the launches I was at this morning had water coming up in the parking lots. By Monday all parking lots will be under water without the wind and waves.
Catch and release them all

They are calling for winds of 60 to 90 kms an hour by tomorrow afternoon. You might want to hold off for another day. Monday is supposed to be nice.

100 km/h around Lake Ontario. Long story short...(big announcer voice), "The weather, ladies and gentlemen sucks! Mother Nature calls a strike and decides to pound us with weeks of crappy weather and rain, just annoy the hell out of poor hellbent fisherpeople that want another outing b4 Old Man Winter replaces that Mother Nature and kills us even worse."
