Big bite on Quinte........Big bust!!!!!!!!!!!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

B-S,

Would like to hear more about the temporary shelter you made.
Could you maybe include some details in a seperate post in the boats section.

Thanks

BTW, I'd like to offer up one little Quinte tip.

Go into the members list, find Eye-Tracker, and click on "find all posts".

Sheldon has offered over 70 pages of input to this site, and the answers are all in there.
As far as charters go, Sheldon is top notch in offering up information where most others would not.
But please keep in mind Sheldon has worked diligently to break out the secrets of the bay, he has shared them here, but he is still a charter, and in all fairness should be compensated if you want to learn his secrets up close and personal.
(btw, I am no speaking of behalf off Sheldon, I just think we should respect the man's right to make a living)

Good luck to everyone who makes a trek to the bay this year.
Just leave a few for me please. :D

MT,
Thanks for the support...but I always have information to share when it comes to catching ol' marble eyes. Now giving out my way-points - that is a whole other issue.

Fishing suspended walleye is very difficult as there is no simple bottom structure to follow or pattern that will work every time out. You have change things up and fish hard to figure out the producing pattern. I have found over time, once I am on a good bite pattern the fish decide to change.

I guide on Quinte, so all my time on the water allows me to stay on top of the fish and patterns...nothing can replace time on the water.

Quinte is special - If you only catch one fish that is 10 plus pounds...just remember many anglers fish a lifetime and never catch a walleye that size.

Fish On...

Hey Sheldon, your advice is the reason I caught my new personal best. I hope to learn more from you and others in the future. And MT, I never would expect a free ride and of course support Sheldons right to make a living. We definitely are lucky to have him share his wealth of knowledge with us. I for one am very appreciative of the tips he has given me personally.

Great fish guys. Good to see Quinte in all it's glory. I love that spot and it's so easy to get hooked on the Quinte style of fishing.

I too was at Quinte on Sunday......the Friday before as well, and will be heading down yet again this Saturday.

On Friday I took a friend of mine who's not fished Quinte in a very long time, and when he did, it was not for Walleye. We trolled a very long day with not a single hit....well sort of.....The outside board went off once and the liberty went to my partner. As he's reeling in...we realized we had forgotten the net......oh crap I said. No problem, we'll just grap him at the side of the boat. Well realing in and clearing the board the fight was on, and well what a fight it was. Turns out the hook was not in its mouth, it was in its side. As we battled the waves to get it in, we got it to the side. I put on my fish gloves and reached in to get it, careful not to get those trebles stuck in my hands. I picked it up and was just about to pull it over the side when it poped out like a bar of wet soap. Didn't lose it though, but the wind certainly came up and we were fighting a very angry fish, waves, current, and no net. Almost got it back and just about to reach for it and the line broke. That was the excitement...and the lesson for the day....DON'T FORGET THE NET.

Sunday was a little better for us, but still slow. We just couldn't seem to find the pattern that was working. My buddy caught his personal best Walleye at 11.3lbs, beauty fish, and Fishhawk managed a 5lber.

As for me....I do work a good net....when we have one. My day will come though....Saturday to be precise.

I'm going to have to pay more attention to the lads around us on Saturday. I'm pretty sure I saw MuskyMatt, but that's all I remember. Hard to tell when everyone's dressed up for a hurricane. If you see the red Princecraft with 3 lads aboard wearing orange, yellow, and red, give us a wave.

Anyway, great pics and congrats on the Personal Bests. It will only get better from here.

Thought we saw you last weekend. :D

BTW, if you see this boat ... it is The Money Pit. Turns out it floats and catches walleyes. Won't be in Quinte this weekend, but will be back soon.

Skumking. I never said I didnt have a good time, in fact we had a really good time. Lots of non stop laughing, you see if there is one thing I do have its a great sense of humour and laughing and making people laugh is one of the things I like to do most. I just made mention of the fact that Merlands left a little to be desired, if you are curious why send me a pm and I will tell you. I am not going to say anything bad in a public setting. We still had alot of fun regardless of the shoe box we were sharing. It was so tight we had to use a lubricant to move around.  We still caught a couple of fish and three personal bests out of 4 fish aint bad.

I will be heading back on Sunday with Jackel and his son mini-me, and probably again on Monday with Bowzog. Take care and if you are around give us a wave. There are shots of my boat, I will have the welfare top up again so you will know its me.

3-4 guys in a shoebox of a room and Badger mentions lubricant?!

I'm REALLY sorry, I couldn't resist.

I know there will be hell to pay for this but I've already got a first class ticket on a rocket straight there, so I'm not too worried. :D

(Btw, great personal bests, some quality eyes there!)
