Paolo: Here is a stat you will enjoy...from working in the health care sector for 7 years I know that 1 in 3 people will get an infection of some sort after surgery...This is due to improper sanitization of equipment and lack of resposibilty of nurses etc being clean and sterile during wound care treatments etc. These infections will cause return to hospital 35% of time and wil last on average 10-15 days maybe less if you get the right antibiotics. Now antibiotics only work on 60% of people and almost 50% do not get the right antibiotic the first time or are allergic to it. How does that make you feel??
How's this for conflict. You still setting your alarm clock??????Kpin wrote:Actually I just really enjoy bitching. The staff on the whole were very competent and I felt secure with the proffesionals that helped in my care. My surgeon has already personally returned 2 calls in 2 days to me for some concerns I've had even though he's working 12-16 hr. surgery shifts.
Btw, as a sidenote...I've gotta say, it's really nice to see a post get such a great response without actually involving any conflict! Ain't it grand?!
Glad to see you back

Hush about the smokes Wolfe, one thing at a time sweetie. Called the hospital with my concerns and well, what do ya know? My specialist is out of town therefore can't examine me. The secretary manages to get a hold of him and he tells her to give me instructions to go to emerg. for assesment.
The wait itself wasn't that bad because of my recent surgery. Long story short. They wanted to admit me again. We decided upon a compromise, get a prescription of antibiotics and promise to come check myself in should the fever reach a certain lvl or the incision start exibiting redness or discharge indicating a worsening of the possible....(I say probable), infection.
Sooooooo, I may just be back in there at any time. Hopefully not, I can actually sleep here at home, although my "caretakers" have recently commented that I'm insupportable, unsufferable and well, just a meanie!
(Wait until they see me actually have a REALLY bad day).

Normy, your stuck in a rut bud, not gonna let me live down Mr. Wormy or the alarm clock....ever, are you?
*update*
Fever has broken and I'm leaking fluids like a stuck pig but I'm feeling better. The antibiotics didn't even have a chance to work their magic but I'll finish them just for good measure.
Seems I'm popping pills like pez these days.

Antibiotics work by completing the course. Take all as prescribed.

Good day Kpin; hope all is well and I don't know why our administrator here blocks out any writtings as soon as "wolfe" writes a reply but it happens everytime. Strange as it is I am still able to see the aviators but anything written by these people just comes out blank. Anyway just wanted you to know that I hope you can make it on Wednesday night to the Lonestar, sounds like it should be a great evening.

Hitman, yanno the 7 second delay they have on TV and radio to block out anything that shouldn't be said?
Well Bobber hardwired one into the site specifically for Wolfe. Sure, she seems sweet...doesn't she? I've heard tales of her making a whole whackload of drunken sailors on shoreleave blush with some of the horrible things she uttered.
As for myself, looks like the antibiotics did the trick, this is the 2nd day without a fever, though other more unpleasant things in regard to healing are occuring, (trust me, you don't want to know).
I try to keep myself occupied in the meantime, reading the Bible and knitting scarves for the needy and homeless.
