Installing guides

Hi all,

I want to put some small guides on my crappie pole. I already made the guides out of small pins and I have the thread. Question is, what should I use as a fastener? Superglue works, but it looks ugly. Clear nail polish maybe??

I put new eyes on an old downrigger rod last winter and used clear nail polish to seal the thread. Used the rod most of the summer and thread still looks good
