TOYOTA'S DO NOT FLOAT

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

The hole is/was lined up with the outside end of the bridge channel docks. Apparently he was not fishing, he was looking for friends who were...

Only people I know ice fishing at 1:15am are in a shack and getting loaded.

And the tip-ups would probably get pulled into the water before anyone noticed.

Funny, usually with accidents police are first to mention either alcohol was or wasn't a factor. It isn't mentioned here.

Also, wonder what mom & dad did about their car going for a swim, in fact, how to you tell mom & dad where the car is? .... .... Ever see the movie, "Dude, where's my car?"

On the topic: I was at lac bernard past weekend. First off, about 6-12inches of snow over entire lake, most areas about 12-18inches of ice. Between the islands (if you can picture it), there were tire ruts runing the length of the lake, then in one spot one big circle of ice without snow (about vehicle size). I had to walk over to investigate while I was waiting for a bite. It looks like there were slabs of white ice, with darker ice in between. It does look as though a vehicle "could" have gone through. It makes me wonder. I drilled a hole about 30 feet away, 8inches. I walk closer and whack the bare ice with the hammer part of my axe, and well, you know that echo sound you hear when the ice is too thin and you hit it with an axe to test it, well, I got that echo. Then this guy drives from across the lake, between the islands, and buddy is barreling through, doing at least 80. All I hear is the ice cracking everywhere, as it does in the early winter when pressure cracks are forming, but it sounded like a rock concert under my feet. I had to stop and watch, I was expecting him to go through. Maybe thats why we was going so fast.

Experience tells me there is about 7-8 feet of water there, but still.

Hmmm, makes me wonder even more.

Honey! Get the thin ice out, we need to clean out the gene pool!

Badgers and Wolves don't like ice-cold water.
