Where is the best place to access Silver Lake for some ice fishing? Can I park at the Provincial Park? I have a small car, so no off-roading for me. I don't mind a hike if that is required.
Thank you for your help.
Silver Lake Access
Parking
As far as I know the park is gated off not much room for parking ,but if you follow the lake about 1/2 km west you will see where the ramp is ,there should be room for a car or two along there.Just a short walk out from there.I will be going there Saturday with a bunch of people ,we have a little derby going on.10 bucks and biggest pike and trout takes it.good luck

my father and I spent two years in a row when i was young (18 years ago or so) fishing from the provincial park....we generally would try different parks each year.
we found silver lake was a great little provincial park, so long as you didnt' get the water access site right beside the highway...that was a great site....hearing transport trucks drive down the highway all night long....
as for the fishing, it was pretty tough...but i was young, and we were canoe bound......we did pretty good bass fishing, but didn't catch much else the two trips we were there.....
but the lake didn't see much pressure, and i remember watching a fellow land some beauty walleye near the waterfall.
strange lake. i'm curious as to how good the fishing really is.....when your young, and your knowledge is limited, who knows how good a lake really is?

I have only driven past it so only gotten a glimpse at it, but it seemed pretty small. but by the sounds of it it's a fair size? does it go back beyond what you can see from highway 7?
but if theres bass, pike and walleye, then sounds like my kinda lake. I'm curious cause I have been lookin to move out of the city (Ottawa) and want to make sure theres a good fishin hole nearby, and silver lake, or tay township, lanark, all looked like good spots
